Cook | Plans, prepares and serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks or evening meals for children, in accordance with USDA guidelines. Follows established procedures for good food service hygience and adheres to effective standards and pratices for safe food handling, preparation, storage, and refrigeration, ensuring protection from food-borne illnesses, spread of bacteria, etc. Prepares and adheres to monthly menus. Inventories and orders necessary food supplies to ensure timely meal preparation. Ensures security and accountability of food, accounting for all purchases and ensuring foods are safe, labeled, securely packaged and with unexpired dates. Cleans and stores all food service equiment, pots, pans, dishes, and utensils. Maintains a clean, sanitary kitchen, free of food waste, spills, etc. Keeps daily record of classroom attendance and classroom evaluation forms, to ensure that proper portions are being served. Provides assistance to teachers for classroom cooking activities they may wish to plan. Performs other duties as assigned. | Must be 18 years of age and have experience in preparing, cooking and serving nutritious, balanced meals for a large number of children. Must have knowledge of basic principles of good nutrition and USDA guidelines, kitchen cleaning and maintenance, and food storage and preparation. Must be able to economize in shopping and adequately calculate the food quantities according to the number of children to reduce waste. Must have good personal hygiene and cleanliness habits, have the ability to maintain accurate records, be friendly and courteous and like working with children. |
Lead Teacher | Responsible for general program management of a part/full-day preschool of 15-18 children ages 1-4 years old. Serves as Lead Teacher of class, preparing and providing age appropriate instruction in accordance with Center schedule. Plans and conducts an effective child development program to meet the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of each child based on program goals, objectives and philosophy. Plans and implements daily schedules and actvity plans and leads other employees to follow them. Arranges room and play materials to accommodate daily schedule. Serves as a leader to teacher aides, with responsibility for the overall operation of the classroom in accordance with applicable guidelines. Demonstrates proper supervision and work methods, providing work-related guidance to staff. | Must have a high school diploma and be at least 18 years of age. In addition MUST possess a credential in ECE which may be a CDA, technical diploma, AA or BA/BS or currently enrolled in a school of higher learning in the ECE field. Must be professionally prepared to serve as a lead teacher of young children and have a working knowledge of early childhood education or develoment. Must have one year of specialized work experience in a child care setting. Must have the personality and ability to provide a quality program to children and appropriate leadership to staff. Must possess or be able to complete CPR/First Aid Training Certification. |
